Twitter Toy of Year
Jo Jordan | July 3, 2008I just love visualization tools, particularly if they serve the social media purpose of allowing me to find other people with like interests.
Thanks to twitterfacts, I have just found TwitterArcs.
Type your Twitter handle into the search space and up come your last 100 tweets.
Down the left, in yellow, are arcs connecting you up to other people. So you can see when you were conversing, and when you were . . . well, talking to yourself.
Down the right, in red, are arcs connecting up the word in your tweets. So if you say “cool” a lot, you will have lots of red arcs connecting those tweets.
Well, that, is sort of interesting. Now look at the substantive words. Hit one and you will get a list of tweets using that word, AND, a list of connections between people who use that word.
I followed up Zim, and guess what. Heaps of tweets – few connections between the tweeters!
Typed in MediaCampLondon and we can see who is talking about what. Interesting what I missed. Maybe I should follow a few more people!
Marvelous.
I found heaps of replies to me I didn’t know about too. Thanks twitterfacts!
