There have been a few Twitter memes and fashions for avatars, including going greeen, going Simpsons, going Manga, or forming tribes of all sorts of colours.

But October is the time ‘Turn Twitter Pink‘ to help bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Several people in my life have encountered various forms of cancer over the years, so it’s something I can definitely support, especially as a reforming nicotine addict.

And for the female readership of 140char, there’s a great promotional video from Cancer Research UK. And in the interests of full disclosure, a friend of mine works there – although I completely forgot that until I was writing this post!
